SKIPPY® Apple 'n Peanut Crisp

Peanut butter and apples pair so well together, it's astonishing that this dish has not been in my life until now. SKIPPY® Apple 'n Peanut Crisp is a delicious take on a traditional crisp.

Ingredients

4 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced

6 tablespoons sugar, divided

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

2 tablespoons water

1/2 cup quick-cooking oats

1/4 cup all-purpose flour

3 tablespoons SKIPPY® Creamy Peanut Butter

3 tablespoons butter

4 cups natural vanilla ice cream

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 425°F.
  2. Coat 8×8-inch pan with cooking spray.
  3. In pan, toss together apples, 2 tablespoons sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle with water.
  4. In medium bowl, combine oats, flour and remaining 1/4 cup sugar.
  5. Cut in peanut butter and butter with pastry blender or two knives until mixture is size of small peas.
  6. Sprinkle crumbs evenly over apples; cover with aluminum foil.
  7. Bake crisp 20 minutes.
  8. Remove foil; bake uncovered 20 minutes longer or until apples are tender and topping is crisp and golden.
  9. Serve warm or at room temperature, topped with ice cream.
